Graduate Students win awards at AAG

The Geography Department would like to congratulate Kate Johnson and Mengyao Zhang for receiving student awards at the 2014 AAG conference.

 

Mengyao Zhang [150] Mengyao was awarded 1st place in the GIS Specialty Group Student Paper Competition.

Her paper is titled: Supermarket Redlining and Community Vulnerability in Greater Hartford Area of Connecticut.”

 

 

 

Kate JohnsonKate received the Carville Earle Award from the Historical Geography Specialty Group.  The Carville Earle Award is given to support PhD-level graduate research.

Once Kate has finished with the funded portion of her research, she will produce a summary of her research findings which will then be published in the HGSG newsletter Past Place.
