Three UConn Geography graduate students earn AAG awards.

The Geography Department would like to congratulate Shaolu YuMengyao Zhang, and Megan McCusker Hill for receiving student awards at the 2015 AAG conference.

 

Shaolu YuShaolu earned several awards:

  • Economic Geography Specialty Group –  Best student paper award (paper titled: “I’m like a deaf, dumb and blind person: the immobility of Chinese in Flushing New York City”)
  • Urban Geography Specialty Group – Best student paper award (Paper titled: “Mobilocality”)
  • Urban Geography Specialty Group –  Travel award

 

 

Mengyao Zhang [150]Mengyao earned two awards:

  • Remote Sensing/GIS/Cartography Specialty Group –   First Place for 2015 Student Illustrated Paper Competition
  • Transportion Geography Specialty Group – Travel award

 

 

 

Megan McCuskerMegan received the AAG Geomorphology Specialty Group’s Doctoral Student Paper Award for her paper “Gullies as Markers of Holocene and Anthropocene Environmental Change in southern New England”.
