The National Research Council has appointed Dr. Atkinson-Palombo to two scientific and technical panels covering projects funded by the Transportation Research Board.
Over a period of two years she will be traveling back and forth to Washington DC to collaborate with other scientists and practitioners to shape two separate projects – one relating to public involvement in transportation decisions and the other relating to the impact of transportation on land values.
Key activities include writing calls for proposals, selecting winning projects, reviewing progress reports, and serving as a champion for the research findings.
