UConn GIScience Major receives SURF award

Aidan Caron, a GIScience major at UConn, has earned a 2022 Summer Undergraduate Research Fund (SURF) Award. His project is titled “Improving Access to Connecticut Summer Meal Programs with Geographic Information Systems”. Aiden plans on developing an interactive web GIS platform to improve the participation of the Connecticut Summer Meal Programs which will help stakeholders make informed decisions. The faculty advisor of the project is Dr. Xiang “Peter” Chen.

SURF Awards support UConn’s full-time undergraduate students in summer research or creative projects. SURF award recipients are chosen through a competitive process.
