Ailing Jin Wins First Place in UCGIS Lightning Talks

Ailing JinAiling Jin, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Geography at the University of Connecticut, won first place in the Lightning Talk Competition at the UCGIS 2023 Symposium.  The event, which took place from June 6 to June 9, was held at Yale University this year.  The UCGIS is recognized as one of the largest GIS professional associations in North America.

Ailing’s lightning talk evaluated the spatial disparity of food activities and their health implications in the Greater Hartford region by utilizing large-scale human mobility data.
